This week, from June 14 to June 18, 2021, wide-scale outdoor advertising of gambling appeared in Kyiv. Advertising of such kind not only undermines the principles of a special law on the gambling industry legalization, but also threatens the government’s obligations to ensure the legitimacy of the market and fair competition.
We welcome the official position of the Gambling and Lotteries Regulation Commission (hereinafter referred to as KRAIL) on taking the necessary measures to stop strange advertising activity of all actors involved.
We agree with KRAIL’s statement that excessive and illegal advertising of gambling bears social risks.
The law applies to everyone without discrimination, and the punishment for non-compliance should be the same. We fully support the principles of fair and legitimate competition.
