Assistance to the State from the gambling business has become systematic

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of russian troops into Ukraine, legal operators in the domestic gambling market have been helping the State fight against the aggressor.

Members of the Ukrainian Gambling Council (UGC) have introduced several ongoing social projects to receive funds for the country’s needs.

For instance, Cosmolot launched an interactive portal to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and collect donations to burn vatniks” together. The company recently received the thanks of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine for helping the army.

Since the beginning of the war, Cosmolot has acquired and donated five professional copters and two thermal imagers to a separate AFU reconnaissance battalion and 16 radios to the Kaniv territorial defence unit. The company and its employees collected about UAH 120,000 for a volunteer project producing plate carriers, acquiring bulletproof vests and tactical equipment for the AFU, and helping affected families with children in the Kyiv region.

Vbet launched the We Care Fund initiative raising funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Vbet will transfer funds to the We Care Fund for every spin and bet in online casinos and activity in other games of chance with the We Care Fund logo. Once a month, the collected funds will be sent to Ukrainian humanitarian organizations. The initiative will also function in peacetime to help rebuild Ukraine.

PokerMatch has launched and has already held a series of charity poker tournaments to collect funds to support Ukrainians affected by russian aggression. 10% of the buy-in commission in tournaments will be donated to charity. At one of the latest tournaments, thousands of poker players contributed to support Ukraine and raised UAH 760,420!

Parimatch and the Parimatch Foundation, created by the company, constantly provide humanitarian aid to those in need and raise funds for the AFU. For instance, recently Parimatch helped acquire “micro-antiaircraft protection” against enemy drones.

The corresponding amount, UAH 8 million, was raised, which DOU & KOLO needed to complete the fund-raising effort for the SKY CTRL installation. This device can track movement in the sky within a radius of 10 km, distinguish between birds and artificial air objects, and jam and push enemy drones off course.

The Favbet Foundation, a charitable foundation established by Favbet in 2020, makes monthly transfers to the rehabilitation programs for our soldiers. During the three months of the war, the company also built logistics routes to transport humanitarian aid from Lviv to Kyiv and transported more than 100 tons of humanitarian cargo. For instance, in June, the fund’s coordination centre in Zagreb (Croatia) donated another batch of humanitarian aid to the territorial defence unit of the AFU in the Lviv region.

As of today, 95% of the fund’s projects aim at helping internally displaced people, supporting the army, and rehabilitating wounded soldiers. The foundation’s office has become a bomb shelter, and warehouses operate as hubs to sort humanitarian aid before being sent to a particular region.

GGPoker holds Ukraine Fundraising Event charity tournaments, and the entire rake (10% of the buy-in commission) goes to the humanitarian account of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

All of the above clearly indicates that domestic gambling systematically supports the State during the war by paying taxes and creating projects to support the army and territorial defence units and finance humanitarian needs. Systematic assistance is an indicator of genuine support of the State.

By the way, the experience of licensed gambling operators and the projects they have introduced can serve as an example for representatives of other economy sectors, since victory is impossible without constant satisfaction of the army’s needs by those in the rear. And the systematic nature of this process is the key to bringing the renewal of Ukraine’s territorial integrity closer.
